Darcy Elora Hofer, Executive Director
A Michigan native, Darcy began her career at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea where she worked side by side with the Executive Director in various roles. In 2004 she gave up a comfortable Equity stage managing career and moved to Chicago to pursue a not-so-comfortable design career! Almost immediately she made her Chicagoland debut with Appetite Theatre's production of The Years, and has been designing locally ever since. Now Executive Director of Appetite, she is thrilled to have found her creative home. Favorite local companies she has worked for include Light Opera Works, Piccolo, Profiles, LiveWire, Redtwist, Pine Box & Point of Contention. Darcy received her BA in Theatre from Michigan State University and her AAS in Fashion Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology in downtown Chicago. She currently works full time as a stitcher for the Theatre & Interpretation Center at Northwestern University.
Kyle Anderson, Company Member
Kyle Anderson has been working with Appetite since their second production. An antisocial bookworm, he is nonetheless surprisingly successful with the ladies. Kyle has been a lighting designer in Chicago since 2003, and makes his living as the Stage Manager for The Second City e.t.c.
CJ Jelinek, Webmaster
CJ Jelinek is a web developer and owner of JellyNeck Solutions, Inc which specializes in web design and development for small businesses. After graduating from The University of Michigan in 1997, CJ made his way to Rogers Park where he lives with his wife and daughter. Visit his site at www.jellysites.com.
Michael Derting, Company Member
Michael is originally from Kansas City, MO where he graduated from Avila University with a B.F.A. in Theatre. Regionally he has worked with New Theatre Restaurant, Theatre for Young America & KC Rep. Since moving to Chicago almost 9 years ago, he's played with Theo Ubique, Second City, Emerald City, Redmoon, 20% Theatre and New Leaf Theatre. As a member of Appetite, Michael has been a producer and director for Bruschetta and acted in Appetite's second production, The Years. Look for more stage time from Michael as Appetite moves forward to feeding your soul. Thank you to his family and friends for the years of support!
Basia Kapolka, Literary Manager
Basia Kapolka has been a member of Appetite Theatre since 2009, where she is currently the literary manager. Projects with Appetite include: Jinx (writer & director), The Dining Room (director) & Skylight (actor). Basia studied literature & philosophy at St. John's College and acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse. She is related to the Kapolkas of Pittsburgh and the Williams of Providence.
Mark Edward Penzien, Company Member
Mark has been a company member of Appetite Theatre since 2009 and has worked on many of our productions in various roles including, but not limited to, Actor, Set Designer, Sound Designer & Production Manager. 
Betty Lorkowski, Company Member
Betty is originally from Seattle, Wa. but found her home in Chicago about 8 years ago. She has worked with the Lyric Opera, Landscape Theatre Ensemble, Fury Theatre & at ATC as part of their 10x10x10 festival. Betty found her creative home with Appetite Theatre where she has been working as an actor since 2008 and as a company member in 2010.
